Faster acting than other laxatives

Prucalopride has a rapid onset of enterokinetic activity and increases the number of complete spontaneous bowel movements. Adequate relief of constipation among patients with severe constipation occurs significantly more frequently in patients taking prucalopride compared with placebo.

Indications :

- Chronic constipation

- Constipation due to spinal cord injury

- Constipation secondary to chronic daily opioid use

Dosage :

As per Guidelines of Doctor.

A 2 mg dose regimen appears optimal to start, with dose escalation when needed and dose reduction in the case of adverse events consistent with the prokinetic action that would preclude further treatment with 2 mg once daily.
