Indicated in :

- Excessive sleepiness associated with narcolepsy, obstructivesleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome and shift work sleep disorder.

- Daytime sleepiness due to overwork, stress-related insomnia

- Antipsychotic-associated sedation in schizophrenia patients

Dosage and administration :

The recommended dosage of modafinil is200 mg a day, administered as a single dosein the morning. A dosage of 400 mg once aday has been well tolerated, but there is noconsistent evidence that this dosage providesgreater benefits than the 200 mg dosage.
