Dosage and administrationIn epilepsy 

1 In people not taking carbamazepine or valproate  initial dose of 125 or 25 mg a day and the dose increased by 125 or 25 mg every week or two

2 In people taking valproate  initial dose of 125 mgday and the drug is increased by 125 mg every ten days or two weeks

3 In people taking carbamazepine somewhat larger initial doses and more rapid increases in dose are possible
