Acts as a serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor.

Helpful addition to antipsychotics Appears to improve the clinical picture of schizophrenia, including both negative and positive symptoms.

Improves both depression and related anorexia nervosa(AN).

More efficacious in fibromyalgia syndrome than selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

Produces minimal serotonergic, anticholinergic and antiadrenergic side-effects

Exhibits low propensity for interactions.

Indicated In :

- Treatment-resistant depression

- Depression comorbid with anxiety symptoms

- Depression with sleep disturbance

- Depression, anorexia and weight loss in advanced cancer patients

Dosage and administration :

Adults/Elderly : Initial dose : 15 mg per day to be increased gradually. The effective daily dose is 15-45 mg per day.
